Scout Uniforms at Camp
The Official Scout field uniform, informally called 'Class A,' consists of the official shirt, belt, shorts/pants & socks. This uniform is worn each day for evening retreat and dinner, as well as for Chapel services. The activity or 'Class B' uniform consists of Scout shorts/pants and a Scouting T-shirt with belt and socks as appropriate at all other times. The content of all clothing and hats should be consistent with the principles of the Scout Oath & Law.
Camp operates a full-service trading post. It is stocked with official Scout items, including handbooks & advancement items; Goose Pond custom items and T-shirts; camping & merit badge books; handicraft items; and an assortment of beverages, snacks, candy, ice cream, and ice. In addition to cash & checks, credit/debit cards are also accepted, as well as gift cards issued from the NEPA Council Scout Shops. Operating hours are posted generally, and the Trading Post is closed during Dinner, Campfire shows, and Chapel services.
Parents may wish to send mail or packages to their Scout at Goose Pond. Please realize that postal deliveries are not made to Goose Pond except Monday–Saturday, and mail delays are common. Mail should be addressed in this manner:
Goose Pond Scout Reservation
1401 Goose Pond Road
Lake Ariel, PA 18436
UPS and FedEx make daily weekday deliveries. An outgoing mailbox is available at the Trading Post. The Trading Post also sells postage stamps.
The Camp Business Phone: 570-689-2659
Please use the camp phone number for business and emergency purposes only. Scouts should not receive or place calls, except in emergencies. Emergency messages will be delivered to a Scout as soon as possible.
The Program Office and Health Lodge at Camp Office or Scoutmasters’ Lounge have limited phone access if needed. The Scout Resource Area does not have phones or internet present.
Leaders may access the internet in the Leaders’ Lounge. Cellular reception is poor in most areas of camp, but leaders with Verizon or AT&T usually can access service in limited areas. Cell phones may be used only by adult leaders. Scouts should not bring cell phones to camp.
Outgoing mail may be deposited at the Trading Post mailbox. Incoming mail will be picked up and distributed daily. The Trading Post also sells postage stamps. Outgoing UPS/FedEx items may be left at the Trading Post. Please check with the Program Office staff for additional information.
