Edge Weekend
Agenda:
Saturday November 15th, Scouts will have the opportunity to take their first steps toward earning the Hiking Merit Badge (optional). This is the beginning of an exciting journey that builds outdoor skills, endurance, and confidence while exploring the beauty of nature.
We will be hiking the Palisades Long Path from Fort Lee, New Jersey, covering roughly 11 miles back to Alpine Scout Camp. This scenic section of Palisades Interstate Park follows the iconic Long Path trail, offering hikers breathtaking views of dramatic cliffs, dense woodlands, and the Hudson River. Beginning near the George Washington Bridge, the trail winds north along both the top and base of the Palisades, passing historic overlooks, quiet picnic spots, and striking natural landmarks along the way. It’s a challenging but rewarding hike and the perfect way to kick off the journey toward earning the Hiking Merit Badge.
